A “country brand” of the technology sector
“We have sectoral brands that are sectors, those sectors of the national economy that are important from the point of view of the country’s image or have importance in exports. Uruguay has had the brand for a few years Uruguay Wines, for wine, we also have for wool, This year it also appeared Uruguay Meats for the meat issue,” the leader recalled.
And he stated: “Now we are betting on the technology which is so important for the country, which has exports for 1,300 million a year, employs approximately 25,000 people in the country, so it is a very relevant sector, with zero unemployment practically, and where Uruguay is the main exporter per capita in Latin America”.
“Uruguay It is beginning to position itself through companies as a provider of many products and important quality technology services, with very sophisticated clients. This shows that the product and services that Uruguay sends out are of good quality,” added Risso.
“It is a job that is between the private and public sectors. From the government we said that it is a very good thing, there is an executive summary this year where all the companies there are listed and the Tecnology brand had also been included there. And from the private sector they also see it favorably, it is always useful for them to have the support of a superior brand,” analyzed the head of the Uruguay XXI organization.
