Russia plans to increase the consumption of natural gas as a motor fuel. The Ministry of Energy, together with the regions, will adjust the indicator for the cities participating in the Clean Air federal project, follows from the minutes of the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko (Izvestia has it). The officials confirmed the authenticity of the document.
The Ministry of Energy told Izvestia that the development of consumption of environmentally friendly and low CO2 emissions gas motor fuel is relevant for all regions of the country.
“Specific volumes of consumption increase will be worked out additionally, in cooperation with regional authorities. Achievement of target indicators can occur both due to the release of new equipment, and due to the transfer of transport to gas, ”the Ministry of Energy explained.
In 2021, the volume of natural gas consumption in 12 cities of the Clean Air project amounted to more than 82 million cubic meters. m, Alexander Tavdidishvili, head of the development department of the National Gas Engine Association, told Izvestia. In most participating cities, it is possible to increase the target indicators of natural gas consumption in transport up to 30%, he believes.
At the end of 2021, methane remained the lowest-cost fuel in Russia, Gazprom Gas Engine Fuel told Izvestia. To fill a full tank of a passenger car with gasoline or diesel, today you need about 1.5-2 thousand rubles, methane – 400 rubles, said Philip Tuponosov, CEO of Globaltechexport.
