It will no longer be necessary for registered workers to go through a union social work so that it can then transfer those contributions to the medical company. The measure was published in the Official Gazette.

At the beginning of his administration, President Javier Milei deregulated the Health system, which allowed beneficiaries to choose to direct their contributions to a Social Work or a Prepaid Medicine Entity, directly and avoiding intermediaries.

The Superintendency of Health Services (SSS) confirmed through the Official Gazette the resolution according to which from December 1 all entities that offer health plans financed, in whole or in part, with funds from social security must register in the Registry of Health Insurance Agents.

This way, It will no longer be necessary for registered workers to go through a union social work so that it can then transfer those contributions to the medical company..

The new Minister of Health, Mario Lugones, held meetings with representatives of the most important social and prepaid works to inform them of this measure.

Swiss Medical, one of the most prominent prepaid medicine companies in the country, has already gained entry to the Registry, so registered workers who want to receive care from that provider will not have to channel their contributions through a social work to access its services. .

This measure was announced on Thursday by the presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, who considered that this step allows registered workers “to derive their contributions directly and without having to pay any of the phantom social works that act as intermediaries and that were left , of course, with a piece of the commission, of what they contributed”.

Adorni highlighted that “the Government welcomes this decision by Swiss Medical and invites other companies to join the system.”

Now, there would not be an “invitation” but instead medical companies must register in the Registry of Health Insurance Agents.

At the beginning of his administration, President Javier Milei deregulated the Health system, which allowed beneficiaries to choose to direct their contributions to a Social Work or a Prepaid Medicine Entity, directly and avoiding intermediaries.

This occurred through DNU 70/23, which modified Laws No. 23,660 and No. 23,661 that incorporated the entities included in Article 1 of Law No. 26,682 as Insurance Agents in the National Health Insurance System, that is, to prepaid medicine companies.
