The series of Chris Mundy of Ozarks, Damon Lindelof from Watchmen and the comic book writer Tom King follows new recruit John Stewart (Pierre) and Lantern legend Jordan (Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.
The eight-episode series Lanterns is produced by HBO in association with Warner Bros Television and DC Studios. Mundy, who will serve as showrunner, Lindelof and King are co-writers and executive producers. James Hawes will direct the first two episodes and will also executive produce.
Pierre leads the cast of Rebel Ridge of Jeremy Saulnierwhich has been the number one movie on Netflix for three weeks, and then lends his voice to the main character of Mufasa in the animated prequel to The Lion King Barry Jenkins for Disney. Currently filming The Morning Show for Apple TV+, Pierre recently starred as Malcolm X in the series Genius: MLK/X from NatGeo. His credits also include Garth Davis’ Foe alongside Paul Mescal and Saoirse RonanClement Virgo’s Brother and Jenkins’ limited series The Underground Railroad.
