Drivers in Saarland currently have the cheapest fuel in Germany. In the north and east, fuel is significantly more expensive.
Drivers in Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg are currently the cheapest to fill up. In an ADAC evaluation, the three countries are at the top for both diesel and premium gasoline in that order. As of Tuesday, 11 a.m., premium grade E10 gasoline was on average 8 cents cheaper in Saarland than in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg, where the fuel is currently the most expensive. Brandenburg, Saxony, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt also had comparatively high prices.
When it comes to diesel, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is the most expensive federal state. The price difference to Saarland is 6 cents. Also rather expensive are – in descending order of price – Brandenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Thuringia.
