What is the ANSES pension moratorium?

The pension moratorium allows Women over 60 years of age and men over 65 have access to a contribution regularization plan in up to 120 installments. This plan is designed for those who cannot meet the 30 years of contributions required to retire. In addition, it includes people aged 50 who have less than 20 years of contributions, offering them the possibility of making additional payments to reach retirement without pension debts.

This benefit, launched in March 2023 through the Law 27,705reaches those who already have retirement age or are less than ten years away from reaching it, as long as they have verifiable contributions until 2008. Starting in March 2025, this option will no longer be available, forcing future retirees to seek other alternatives.

ANSES: until when is there time to apply

The validity of the current pension moratorium will be extended until March 23, 2025. From that date, Those who have not regularized their contributions will no longer be able to access this plan. This definitive deadline was established during the administration of Alberto Fernández and ratified by the current administration, which decided not to include an extension in the 2025 Budget project.

Until that time, those interested in joining the moratorium must submit their request to ANSES and meet the established requirements to begin paying the corresponding fees and reach the necessary years of contributions.

What will ANSES retirements be like in 2025?

From 2025, without the current pension moratorium, those who have not completed their contributions will be able to access the Universal Benefit for the Elderly (PUAM)a benefit aimed at people over 65 years of age who do not have a retirement or pension. The PUAM grants 80% of a minimum salary and is updated according to the Mobility Law.

Additionally, those who receive the PUAM will have access to health coverage from PAMIfamily allowances and other social benefits. However, for those who manage to complete their contributions on time, retirements will follow the usual ANSES scheme, with the possibility of accessing a full retirement through prior regularization or the use of other compensation mechanisms.
