In this context, the employees announced strikes from 10 to 12 hours and a computer blackout in the DGI and Customswhich could affect the foreign trade. The information was confirmed by Julio Estévez (AFIP Staff Union) in Radio 10.
As announced in the last few hours, the dissolution of the AFIP is due to his replacement by the Customs Collection and Control Agency (ARCA)with a significant reduction in charges.
AFIP and Customs workers demonstrated and announced forceful measures after Javier Milei’s announcement
The workers, organized by the Association of Tax and Public Revenue Employees (AEFIP)expressed their rejection of the decision, considering it an attack on labor rights and accusing the Government of political persecution. For this reason, they demand a general strike and call assemblies throughout the country to protest against what they consider a “emptying of the State” and a tax policy in favor of large economic groups.
“The government announced the dissolution of the AFIP and the dismissal of thousands of permanent workers. This separation is based on a false claim of irregular income. At no point does it raise functional reasons, it only states the move to availability in a stigmatization and political persecution“, explains part of the statement released by AEFIP.
