The announcement comes just a week after mixed reaction to the Australian remake.
The Office will have a new version, this time in Mexico. The popular BBC Studios series created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant It has already been adapted in the United States, France, Chile and Poland, among other countries.
As confirmed by the Variety portal, the Mexican incarnation will be directed by the writer and director Gary ‘Gaz’ Alazrakiwho has had successes with the 2013 film We The Nobles and the 2015 series Crow Cluband the showrunner Marcos Bucay (How to Survive Single).

The program will be available on Amazon Prime Videoand will revolve around the company Olimpo Soaps from the Mexican state of Aguascalientes, led by office manager Jerónimo Ponce III. Office staff will have to deal with working in a family business where the boss is simply not cut out to lead.

The news comes the week after the release of the Australian version of the show, which arrived on Amazon Prime Video on October 18. That remake has divided audiences, with some viewers saying it made them “want to drink a pint of bleach” and “an insult to an iconic show.”
