Karina Milei starred in the libertarian debut in Tucumán with her own act

Freedom Advances is consolidated in Tucuman and although it has not yet completed the legal process for its constitution as a party, it held an event in a club in the capital, headed by the General Secretary of the Presidency, Karina Milei. “Beyond the good institutional relationship with Osvaldo Jaldo’s management, we want to build a strong political alternative, which can be a government one,” the deputy chief of staff, the Tucumán native, told Ámbito. Lisandro Catalánwho was part of the delegation that accompanied the president’s sister.

The meeting was held at the Central Córdoba club, at 5 p.m., and the speakers, in addition to the president’s sister, Javier Milei, were the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Martin Menemand Catalán himself.

“They tell us that we will not be able to because we have no experience because Lionel Scaloni was not experienced as a coach either and won the National Team champion. President Milei also had no experience and is managing to put an end to inflation,” said Menem. “We ask all the governors to incorporate the single ballot and there they will know what La Libertad Avanza is,” he closed, in terms of electoral strategy for next year.

Catalanin turn, harangued the attendees and said: “today is a historic day for the people of Tucumán because we are giving the initial kickoff that will be precious for the future of the Argentines. What we are doing from the Presidency of the Nation to get the Argentina out of poverty is what we want to do for Tucumán.” “The arrival to the Presidency was not a point of arrival, but a point of departure. I propose that we work together tirelessly, that we be generous with members of other political forces and that we invite other leaders to work together and move the Argentina,” he concluded.

Karina Milei, also president of LLA at the national level, read much of her speech, in which she noted that “For years the ideas of freedom were a bad word, today we have more and more defenders of those ideas throughout the country. We took the big step by winning the presidency but the road is still long. “The caste model is still alive and it is necessary to eradicate it to return freedom to Argentines.”

Before concluding his words, interrupted twice by shouts of “freedom, freedom, freedom” and “the caste is afraid,” he said: “we cannot rest on our laurels, our thirst for change has to be stronger than the their resistance to change and for that you have to work, you have to walk, you have to convince, to fill Congress with representatives who defend freedom. What is at stake is the future of all of us, it is up to all of us to help the President, to take the torch of freedom and take it to every corner of the country.” The club was not full, as some of the organizers expected, of according to questions from this medium, although it showed a significant presence of supporters.

Meetings

One day before the meeting at the Central Córdoba club, Catalán arrived in Tucumán and held a series of meetings in a hotel in front of Parque 9 de Julio. Among them, with the incipient local leadership of LLA, coordinated by the provincial legislator Joseph Macome and the provincial representative of the party, Matías Sabaté. There was also a meeting with members of the CREO party, which represents a sector of ruralism and to which the national deputy belongs. Paula Omodeowhose term expires next year.

It turned out that there was talk of a rapprochement between both forces, although it was made public that the dialogue revolved around the political reform of Tucumán. “Changes are urgently needed, it is incomprehensible that the Lemas law is still being voted on (in the province it mutated with changes to the Couplings Law). We agree that, if the system is not changed by limited constitutional reform, it will be limited by law to two couplings per game,” Catalán explained.

Also before the rally, there was a dialogue between Catalán, Karina Milei and Martín Menem with the provincial deputy Ricardo Bussi, president of Fuerza Republica (FR), whose structure was key to one of the best electoral results of 2025 for LLA occurring in this province, along with La Rioja. According to what was pointed out at the end of the meeting, There was confirmation of the alliance that has united them since last year. “With Javier Milei, with whom we have known each other for a long time, we share a republican and liberal vision. And this is why we are advancing in a natural and strategic alliance,” said Bussi, who anticipated that his party authorized the national deputy from Tucuman Gerardo Huesen, resign from Fuerza Republica and join LLA to consolidate the bloc chaired by Gabriel Bornoroni from Córdoba.

Huesen’s change was finalized after a meeting with Catalán, Macome and Sabaté. In this way, LLA adds legislative muscle with two passes. Macome had arrived at the provincial bench as a member of the PRO and Huesen as an affiliate of FR. Both are already part of the libertarian ranks. “I hope to contribute to the implementation of the structural reforms that Milei proposes for the country,” said the national parliamentarian. It is clear that Catalán has become the great political articulator of LLA in the province in recent months, by dialogue with all the spaces that have approached milleism.

In two voices

At noon, while Karina Milei and Eduardo “Lule” Menem, Undersecretary of Institutional Management, adjusted the speech of the General Secretary of the Presidency, a press conference was held at the hotel that was used by LLA to hold the different meetings. Contact with the media was with Catalán and Martín Menem. Before the questions, the journalists present were told that none of them would be able to cover the event and that the coverage would be done by their own team, which would then provide dissemination material.

Menem, consulted by Scope on the political will to approve the draft Budget 2025which is being analyzed by commissions, maintained that “It is possible that he will go down to the venue in the third week of NovemberI could be wrong, but that is what we intend because it is, as they say, the ‘law of laws’, in which we will seek to ensure that no more is spent than what is earned.”. He highlighted that, so far, some agreements have been reached, based on good dialogue with some governors.

This medium questioned Catalán about the possibilities of him heading the list of candidates for national deputies for Tucumán in next year’s legislative elections, as a consequence of his role as coordinator from the Casa Rosada and his usual connection with the province. Although he did not deny it, he did say: “This is not the time to talk about candidacies, far from it, I think it would be our mistake. If today a leader talks about next year’s candidacies, that candidate does not deserve to be voted for. “Time and positioning will tell that.”

In relation to how the provincial space will be set up in 2025, considering the local presence of LLA, Fuerza Republicana, CREO and the space of the national deputy Mariano Campero, a radical who has his own provincial party, the deputy chief of staff, pointed out – although he evaded give clarifications – that “the Government needs to have its own structure, we are working on that. We are convinced that we have to be open-minded, generous and aware that we must come together in an epic proposal for the future of Tucumán. We owe ourselves the challenge of trying to build a political force that demonstrates a future, that we once again become leaders in the North”. A source later indicated that, “we should not be anxious,” but it is not ruled out that a dialogue table could be established for all the forces that support the administration of President Javier Milei.

Both Menem and Catalán agreed to highlight the support of Tucumán governor Osvaldo Jaldo. “Jaldo’s support for what the new direction of the national government proposes is welcome. We are not going to prioritize provincial situations over the interests of the country, all governors, regardless of their party, should support the direction proposed by the president’s government. Milei, you will be welcome to work together,” Catalán pointed out.
