The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia will strengthen control over suppliers of gasoline, diesel fuel and liquefied hydrocarbon gases (LHG) in the regions. This was reported in the service on Wednesday, January 19.
Analysis of the situation on the oil products market will primarily be carried out for AI-92 and AI-95 gasolines, diesel fuel and liquefied gases.
Particular attention will be paid to monitoring stocks for each fuel supplier and their share in the oil product markets.
“The corresponding instruction to resume the work of the operational headquarters was sent to the territorial bodies,” the antimonopolists noted.
The FAS also stated that headquarters meetings would be held weekly. The primary task is to strengthen control in the constituent entities over the activities of participants in the oil products market, as well as to take response measures when signs of violation of the antimonopoly law are revealed.
In early January, experts told Izvestia that in 2022, motor fuel could rise in price by 8-10%, or about 5 rubles per liter. Analysts noted that such an increase in value can be expected due to rising inflation, as well as due to an increase in business costs. According to official data, in 2021, the rise in the price of gasoline actually caught up with inflation and amounted to just over 8%. Growing demand, limited travel abroad, growth of excises became the main factors in the formation of relatively high prices, market participants said.
As of January 19, at the St. Petersburg International Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange (SPIMEX), AI-92 gasoline has risen in price by 0.36%, to 51.7 thousand rubles per ton, AI-95 gasoline – by 0.19%, up to 54.5 thousand rubles per ton. The price of summer and off-season diesel fuel increased by 0.1%, to 54.15 thousand rubles per ton, and by 0.6%, to 56.2 thousand rubles per ton, respectively.
Winter diesel fell in price by 1.72%, to 62.885 thousand rubles per ton, and LPG – by 1.5%, to 27.732 thousand rubles per ton.
