Cement dispatch fell 20% year-on-year in October and a monthly decrease of 1.1% is observed compared to Septemberaccording to the measurement of the Portland Cement Manufacturing Association. Last year, just over 1,133,331 tons, while in September they sold 917,421 tons and in October some 907,421 tons. Thus, so far this year, it has accumulated a decrease of 26.2%.
He consumption rises and also yields 19.9% compared to the same month of the previous year and in the monthly variation it yields 1.3%while in the accumulated 2024 the collapse rises to 26.3%. The total, between national dispatch and imports, in October was 901,222 tonswhile in the same month last year it was 1,125,075 tons and in September 912,724 tons.

This is the sixth drop so far in 2024 and is at minimum values since the pandemic. Projecting the comparison backwards, this month of October 2024, only surpassed in shipments that of 2020 of the pandemic, having shipped more cement in the months of July 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
