In 2022, the Federal Tax Service will launch a service for credit institutions, with the help of which they will be able to automatically track the registration addresses of their legal entities for mass character. Two sources in the banking market told Izvestia about this, the information was confirmed in financial institutions and the Central Bank.

Sberbank stated that they were interested in such a service, since verification of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs is carried out as part of banking processes. Otkritie and Zenith support the initiative of the Federal Tax Service to place in free access for credit organizations a free full version of the list of mass registration addresses with its subsequent updating.

The Bank of Russia is aware of the work being done by the tax authorities to optimize public information services, the Central Bank told Izvestia. The regulator believes that such sources are in demand by interested financial market participants and are used by them, including in compliance procedures when meeting the requirements of the “know your customer” principle or assessing the company’s risk.

In recent years, there has been a significant decrease in the number of organizations that have signs of one-day firms, Rosfinmonitoring told Izvestia, emphasizing that the risks of their use for the implementation of shadow schemes nevertheless remain. In this regard, the services of the tax service, which provide additional opportunities for assessing the risks of clients, including for the presence of signs of technical companies, are in high demand, Rosfinmonitoring is convinced.
