In statements to Radio Nacional, the executive stated that “this could not have happened if it hadn’t been for the offer that Aerolineas Argentinas had and also the adequate rates that the company has in the market.”
In that sense, he highlighted “the commitment that Aerolineas has with connectivity and with the adequate treatment of its clients, the Argentines.”
On the other hand, he announced that “starting in April we will be operating a daily flight from Buenos Aires to Madrid, instead of the current five weekly flights.”
He also anticipated that Aerolineas Argentinas has decided to fly daily to Rome as well. “The company’s decision is in force and we want to resume the route,” Lombardo said, although he warned that “this will depend on whether Italy does not impose a quarantine on foreigners from February.”
Regarding the flights destined to bring vaccines to the country, he pointed out that “during 2021 we carried out 51 special flights to Moscow, Memphis, Bogotá and Beijing”, and that “this year we have not yet carried out special flights, although we have been bringing, from the United States and Europe, vaccinations on our regular flights.
