Many people are dissatisfied with their job, but only a few are brave enough to try their luck in a completely different job. These eight people did it. One became a doctor – as a former secondary school student.
One in three employees in Germany regularly thinks about quitting. This is the result of the “Work Happiness Reports” study by Awork and Appinio. The reasons are varied. Poor team culture and less communicative management are mentioned here. But also the feeling of not being able to develop professionally.
However, the latter is not only due to the companies, but also to the employees themselves. In hardly any other country is the further training system as flexible and financially supported as much as in Germany. Even with a secondary school diploma, you can take a detour to study medicine or become a master craftsman and then go to university with the aim of becoming a manager in a construction company.
However, you also have to dare to start a new career. Studying alongside work is strenuous, costs money and the future in your new job is uncertain. We met people who took the plunge and talked about their experiences.
