The leaders of the National Team, against Spreen’s debut in Riestra

After the training of the Argentine national team on the Ezeiza grounds, the midfielders Rodrigo DePaul and Leandro Paredes addressed the controversial debut of influencer Iván Buhajeruk, known as Spreen in Deportivo Riestraand they assured that “that was not the way.”

The event in question took place at the Guillermo Laza Stadium, where Spreen participated in the match for only 59 seconds, enough time to unleash a wave of criticism and questions about the ethics of the competition.

This context comes at a time when Argentine football faces various challenges, such as violence in stadiums, the lack of infrastructure in certain clubs and accusations of corruption and favoritism in refereeing.

Faced with this reality, it is understandable that the leaders of the “Scaloneta”, such as De Paul and Paredes, speak out to highlight that these actions do not represent the spirit of effort and dedication that is required to reach the professional level.

De Paul was the first to express himself on the subject to remember that football requires sacrifice and perseverance to reach the First Division. In his words, “The most important thing is the message that the one on this side has to give”.

The midfielder made it clear that, although he understands the role of marketing in sport, it should not divert attention from the effort involved in standing out in professional football.

“You have to make an effort, fall and get up”he insisted, stressing that the National Team must set a clear example for future generations, remembering the hard work that has allowed them to represent their country at the highest levels of international competition.

In tune, Paredes also expressed his disagreement with the episode.

From his experience in European football and his journey in Argentine football, he maintained that this situation “it is not the example for the younger ones”.

The current midfielder for Roma in Italy highlighted that many players fail to reach First Division despite the sacrifices they make, and added that, although he has nothing against Spreen, what happened “is not good at all.”
