The railway wants to increase the cancellation fees. A passenger association doesn’t think this is the right way.
The Pro Bahn passenger association is calling on Deutsche Bahn AG not to make it more difficult to cancel flex-price tickets. Cancellation should continue to be possible free of charge until the start of validity, the association demanded. From mid-December, the railway wants to charge cancellation fees of ten euros seven days before the day of travel. The cancellation fee on the day of travel itself should increase from 19 to 30 euros.
“The new regulations make flexible travel planning more difficult and increase the financial risk of short-term and unforeseeable changes to everyday professional and private life,” criticized Pro-Bahn tariff expert Jörg Bruchertseifer. Passengers who bought the more expensive Flex price appreciated the previous flexibility.
