The Head of Government of the City of Buenos Aires Jorge Macri presented the Key to the City to the President of France Emmanuel Macron this Sunday, within the framework of his visit to Argentina. The French president participated in a tribute to victims of the dictatorship at the Santa Cruz church and then met with President Javier Milei at Casa Rosada.

“This gesture symbolizes the friendship between our peoples and the commitment that Buenos Aires will always have its doors open to France,” said Jorge Macri regarding today’s ceremony.


“During the meeting, we highlighted the importance of the private sector and French investments as an engine of growth in the City. We will always be alongside Western leaders who defend democracy and individual freedoms,” said the Head of Government.
In the Church of the Holy Cross, in the San Cristóbal neighborhood, both participated in a tribute, through a floral offering, to the French people who disappeared and were murdered during the Argentine military dictatorship.
He accompanied the Head of Government, his wife and journalist María Belén Ludueña, and the Secretary General and International Relations Fulvio Pompeo.
