High-altitude rescuers once again get Tesla opponents out of trees

Police height rescuers are once again on duty in the forest next to the Tesla factory. Some environmental activists do not want to clear the dismantled protest camp.

Police specialists have brought environmental activists out of the dismantled Tesla protest camp in Grünheide near Berlin for the third day in a row. On Tuesday, the police decided to immediately clear the forest occupation with tree houses near the Tesla factory. However, some masked activists continued to hold out on trees. They protested against Elon Musk’s only European car factory.

The spokesman for the police headquarters, Daniel Keip, said about the situation in the morning that five people could be seen in the treetops, others were sitting in tree houses. “We want to get everyone out today.” The police also use a lifting platform to make it easier to access the tree houses.

Police high-altitude rescuers have been bringing Tesla opponents down since Monday. According to the police, a large number of the activists left the camp voluntarily on Tuesday after the dissolution of the meeting was announced. In addition, the municipality of Grünheide banned entry into the forest area by general decree. She justified this with security concerns. Dangerous weapons are suspected in the ground. The Tesla opponents wanted to demonstrate at midday in Grünheide against the evacuation of the protest camp.
