The heat pump division was sold and Viessmann has since been looking for new markets. The family is now investing in a company from Upper Bavaria that equips pipes with insulation.
The North Hesse Viessmann Group continues to make purchases and takes over the producer of pre-insulated pipe systems Isoplus, based in Rosenheim, Upper Bavaria. “Together we can quickly advance the expansion of sustainable infrastructure in the area of heat distribution, reduce emissions and integrate renewable energies into everyday life,” said company boss Max Viessmann in Allendorf an der Eder. No information was provided about the purchase price. According to a report in “Wirtschaftswoche”, it should be in the three-digit million range. The takeover still needs to be approved by the antitrust and investment control authorities.
Viessmann has been investing in the energy transition for a long time through company takeovers. Last year, the company sold most of its core business with heating and heat pumps to the US group Carrier, in which the family now still holds a minority stake. Viessmann is using the proceeds from the sale of around twelve billion euros to build a conglomerate that aims to avoid, reduce and store climate-damaging CO2.
According to the information, Isoplus employs more than 1,500 people at ten production sites in Europe. The pre-insulated pipes were used to promote CO2-neutral heat generation. Isoplus previously belonged to the investment company Egeria.
