Ámbito Debate closed a successful 2024 with the second CEO Meeting of the year

Scope Debate closed his agenda 2024 with the second CEO quote of the year, an event in which executives and leaders from different companies and sectors spoke on issues such as leadership, lto team formation and the challenges and opportunities they foresee for 2025, among other topics.

As usual, the day took place in Lex Towerlocated at Corrientes 1464, last Wednesday, November 27, and was attended by important business leaders, who spoke with journalists from Scope over four panels and offered their vision of the executive world and current events in the country.

Debate Area closed its 2024 agenda

The first panel of the event was moderated by Ámbito’s journalistic director, Julian Guarinoand had the participation of Diego MarinPresident and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Financial Company; Pablo SibillaPresident & CEO of Renault Argentina; and Isela CostantiniCEO of Grupo ST.

The three guests agreed on the best business climate that reigns in Argentina and pondered the break that 2024 meant. Costantini commented that it was “a surprisingly positive year in terms of the country” and highlighted that there are “a quite optimistic outlook for what is coming in 2025.” Marín, for his part, mentioned that the first semester was complicated, but that it then rebounded and that ““We finished a very good year.” At the same time, Sibilla mentioned that “from the beginning of the second semester there began to be signs of improvement, the market began to rebound.”

The second panel, meanwhile, was moderated by the journalist and editor of Ámbito’s Politics section, Ariel Basile. The CEO of Fratelli Branca Distilleries for the Southern Cone participated, Rafael de Gamboaand the executive director of the Association of Argentine Electronics Terminal Factories (AFARTE), Ana Vainman.

Like his peers, De Gamboa recalled that the beginning of 2024 was complex, although he stressed that the situation changed in the second semester, “where it began to improve with the reappearance of credit and interest-free installments from banks, that are fundamental for durable goods.” In turn, Vainman asked “to think beyond the electronics industry and have other industries, because that has to do with having a thriving economy and offering quality employment.”

Subsequently, the journalist and director of Energy Report, Sebastián Penelli, led the third panel, in which they participated Jorge Strapasson, president of Henkel Argentina; Juan Pablo Trujillo, CEO of SilverTec; and Michael Meding CEO of The Blues and vice president of McEwen Copper.

When analyzing the situation, Trujillo mentioned that “for what is to come, There is a model of openness that will surely bring a model of growth in foreign trade.” Meding, meanwhile, called for more production and mentioned that “Argentina has the same mountain range as Chile and does not produce anything. “You don’t have to be a geologist to say that there is a huge opportunity.” Strapasson, meanwhile, highlighted that “In Latin America there is a context that is always attractive, being a market of more than 300 million people with many raw materials.”

Finally, the closing panel was moderated by the editor in chief of the Buenos Aires Herald, Estefania Pozzoand was attended by Luciano SzuldmanCEO of the PWG group; Joaquin SalgueiroCEO of Organfur; and Diego GarciaExecutive Director of CVC Corp Argentina.

“In Argentina you have to be with your antennas tuned and be a dynamic person that can adapt to changes constantly without losing focus on the plan you draw up,” García remarked. Salgueiro, meanwhile, mentioned that “the context is totally volatile and changing and those of us who work in tourism know this better than anyone, because it is very marked when people trigger trips or say ‘I’d better wait.'”We have to be accustomed to this dynamism and adapt to these changes all the time,” Szuldman asked.
