The Tucumán Police managed, during Monday afternoon night, to intercept a truck that transported 63 kilos of cocaine – in 59 loaves – hidden in a double bottom. The incident occurred at a checkpoint border in Cabo Vallejo, on the border with the neighboring province of Salta.
In detail, the vehicle was driven by a man in the company of a woman who came from the city of oranprovince of Salta, but who are natives of the capital of Tucumán. After reporting the crime, the police immediately intervened. General Directorate of Dangerous Drugs (Digedrop) for the seizure of the illegal substance and subsequent intervention of the Federal Justice to investigate the case.

According to police sources, the incident occurred on Monday evening, when a truck tried to cross the border control in Cabo Vallejo, located on the border with the province of Salta. The provincial police chief, Joaquín Girvauassured: “When doing the control we come across the news that the truck had a double bottom and upon continuing searching he found this large amount of cocaine. In that sense, Girvau considered that “it is a big blow to drug trafficking that we are giving in Tucumán thanks to the fact that we have strengthened border controls, through ‘Operation Lapacho’, by express instructions of the Governor Osvaldo Jaldo. Now the Federal Justice has intervened because it involves 59 loaves of cocaine of the highest purity.” The illegal substance was transported by two people, a man and a woman.
