A member of the Buenos Aires Penitentiary Service (SPB) was arrested this Wednesday, after being surprised with cocaine and marijuana wrappers in his possession.

The man, identified as EG Quintana (24)was arrested during the changing of the guard in Penitentiary Unit No. 9 of La Plata, located on 76th and 10th streets in the capital of Buenos Aires.


It was discovered following a surprise review
The Requisition Manager of said unit ordered a surprise review on the troops entering the service, during which two packages containing 67.5 grams of cocaine and 43.7 grams of marijuana in a bag with buds and a cell phone device.
Consequently, the Departmental Prosecutor’s Office number 18 and the Guarantee Court on Duty intervened, which requested the arrest and the corresponding judicial proceedings.
The detainee will remain in custody while the corresponding judicial proceedings are taking place, scheduled for this Thursday, December 5.
