Until the moment of this confirmation, the most anticipated items on the agenda had to do with the incorporation of Panama as an associate member of Mercosur.
But the progress of the last few hours led the European leader to confirm her presence and as a result of this, the start time of the summit of presidents and heads of state, which was scheduled for mid-morning on Friday, now begins at 8 :15 with this as the first item on the agenda, as confirmed to Scope sources from the organization, who clarified that this part of the meeting will be behind closed doors.
Then, as already defined, the presidents’ summit will formally begin, in which the Argentine will make his debut. Javier Mileiwith the signing of the economic complementarity agreement between the member states of Mercosur and the Republic of Panama and the Ushuaia protocol on democratic commitment in the South American bloc.
The beginning of the hectic Mercosur summit
This Thursday morning the Common Market Councilwhich involves ministers of Foreign Affairs, Economy and presidents of the central banks of the members of the bloc, whether they are full member countries (Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina) or associates (until now Chili and Bolivia).
