The company also said that most often the need for business trips arises from construction companies that send employees on shifts, as well as from trading companies. In second place are manufacturing companies, in third place are organizations servicing oil rigs.

Smartway Development Director Ilya Vagner noted that, despite the pandemic and the development of trends for remote work, business trips remain an indispensable attribute of large business.

“We can talk endlessly about the transition to remote work, but current realities and numbers show that business needs face-to-face meetings. The Russian economy is primarily built on mining and heavy industry, and I have little idea of ​​debugging a machine tool or building a compressor station via Skype,” he said.

Kirill Kulakov, President of the self-regulating organization “Regional Association of Appraisers” (SRO RAO), said that, for example, large federal-scale appraisal companies are involved in the evaluation of large investment projects. It is impossible to carry out an examination without going to the place, he added.

On January 17, OZON TRAVEL announced which cities Russians travel to on official business and which ones they would like to go to. Most often, employees are sent on business trips to Moscow and St. Petersburg (27% each), Kazan (21%), Yekaterinburg (18%), Novosibirsk and Nizhny Novgorod (16% each), and Chelyabinsk (13% each). %).
