The Government seeks to extend the validity of driver’s licenses and ensure that their renewal is not in person

The minister of Deregulation and Transformation of the State, Federico Sturzeneggerannounced this Thursday that his portfolio is working on a measure to extend the validity of driver’s licenses. Furthermore, he assured that another of the objectives of the Government in this matter is that the renewal process of this document does not have to be in person.

The official explained that this measure is part of “a comprehensive review of the regulations of the Traffic Code“and specified that it could be implemented before the end of the year.

Another point that the reform would modify would include vehicle technical verifications. “You can go to do the service and ask them to do the VTV”, Sturzenegger added.

On the other hand, the minister confirmed the closure of the National Microcredit Commission (Conami), an entity that provided helps entrepreneurs who could not access the formal financial system so that they can continue with their projects.

“Has 100 people working and a loan portfolio. But the salaries are bigger than the entire portfolio he has. That closes tomorrow,” he said in statements to the LN+ channel.

The CGT rejected the deregulation of motor transport

The General Confederation of Labor (CGT) expressed its “absolute rejection” of the deregulation of motor transport contemplated in resolution 57/2024 of the Ministry of Transportation of the Nation and denounced that it enables a “dangerous irregular practice.”

The measure had been confirmed this week by Sturzenegger himself. The official invited “those who have large or small vehicles to become passenger transportation providers.”

“Today’s Resolution 57/24, signed by the Secretary of Transportation, Franco Mogetta, establishes the procedure so that anyone interested in providing the service can do so, giving practical meaning to the deregulation that we had established with Decree 883/24,” he commented.

Finally, the official said that “They simply report vehicles, drivers and the routes they plan to take through a remote procedure. They can change this information whenever they want and as many times as they want. And that’s it! Let’s roll!”
