Young people with gaps in financial knowledge

How do I invest my money correctly? What is the right financial product for me? Many young people feel that school is not well prepared for such questions.
Many young people invest in ETFs or crypto as a matter of course and carry out banking transactions via smartphone – but their financial knowledge often still needs improvement. Only about one in two 18- to 30-year-olds (52 percent) believe they know finances well, according to a Forsa survey for the credit card provider Visa and the direct bank ING Germany.
The vast majority (91 percent) believe it is important to know about financial topics. However, the vast majority feel inadequately prepared by school for dealing with money: just 6 percent of those surveyed said they had learned enough about finances in school. A good 1,800 adults took part in the survey in September, including 1,001 from the 18 to 30 age group.
In order to close knowledge gaps on financial topics, the so-called Generation Z uses, among other things, digital offers such as Finfluencer (23 percent), financial blogs (23 percent) and digital information offers from banks (18 percent). Helpers based on artificial intelligence still play a minor role (7 percent).
