Diego Kravetz will be the new Undersecretary of State Intelligence

The Government announced that Diego Kravetz will be the new undersecretary of State Intelligence and will leave the Buenos Aires Security portfolio. It will be below Sergio Neiffert, head of the SIDE.

According to the presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adornithe former police chief of the city of Buenos Aires “will be in charge of coordinating the operations of the four intelligence agencies” and “reports directly to the Secretary of State Intelligence.”

The SIDE reports directly to the president Javier Milei. The management of the organization is in charge of two of the most powerful people in the organization. Government: the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Mileiand the presidential advisor Santiago Caputo.

Diego Kravetz’s career in public management

The new official of Javier Milei’s administration has an extensive career in public management. He graduated from lawyer at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and is married to Soledad Acuñaformer Minister of Education of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta.

He was a deputy of the City of Buenos Aires between 2003 and 2011, being one of the main promoters of the Public Security Law.

In 2014, he founded the Planning Policy Institute (IPP)a non-profit social organization whose objective is to propose policies that tend to plan Argentine society.

He began his career in public service in the security area in 2015 when he was appointed as Secretary of Security of the Municipality of Lanús. Two years later, he took over as Chief of Staff under Néstor Grindetti.

Later, when the then mayor left his position to head Independiente, Kravetz took charge of the Municipality on an interim basis.

From December 2023 until today, he served as Secretary of City Security. In this position he was accompanied by the commissioner general Oscar Passi. Both replaced the general commissioners Gabriel Berard and Pedro Carnero.
