According to a report by the consulting firm Politikon Chacogasoline and diesel sales last month reached 1,472,085 cubic meters, an interannual drop of 10.5% and a slight monthly increase of 0.6%.
In the breakdown by type of fuel, 56% of the total sold corresponded to gasoline, which registered a decrease of 6% compared to November 2023. Within this category, Super gasoline fell 3.3%, while premium gasoline showed a more pronounced decrease of 13%.
Diesel, which represents 44% of total dispatch, suffered a year-on-year drop of 15.6%, with declines of 20% in common diesel and 6.3% in premium.
In monthly terms, the diesel achieved a recovery of 1.7%, while gasoline sales fell 0.4%.
Where did fuel sales fall the least?
At a geographic level, all provinces showed year-on-year decreases in November. The most moderate declines were recorded in Tierra del Fuego (-2.9%), the City of Buenos Aires (-6.3%) and the province of Buenos Aires (-6.5%).
In contrast, the largest falls occurred in Corrientes (-23.2%), Misiones (-25.5%) and Formosa (-31.9%), border provinces that in previous years had experienced strong consumption due to income of citizens from neighboring countries to take advantage of the lower fuel prices in Argentina.
In the monthly comparison, the results were mixed. Twelve provinces registered increases, led by Tierra del Fuego, Neuquén and San Luis. However, twelve other provinces showed falls, with the most marked declines standing out in Tucumán, Chaco and Catamarca.
