If the positive is 1 gr/l or more, a fine of $189,060 to $1,260,400 is established, or 1 to 10 days of arrest and disqualification of the license always applied (4 months to 2 years).
The ANSV controlled more than 6,000 vehicles and issued 159 reports for positive alcohol levels
The National Road Safety Agency (ANSV) carried out 65 operations control on routes and cities in the country during the celebration of Christmas Eve and the arrival of Christmas. In total, 6,216 vehicles were inspected and 210 drivers were sanctioned, with 159 due to positive alcohol level.
These massive controls aimed to prevent road accidents and raise awareness about responsible driving. The controls were carried out mainly by the early morning and will continue throughout Wednesday.
