Due to the lack of consensus in the Salary Council, The Government decided again to establish an increase in the Minimum Living and Mobile Wage (SMVM) by decree. Through Resolution 17/2024, published this Thursday in the Official Gazette, a new amount of $279,718 was set, which represents an increase of 5.5% compared to the last update in October, where the minimum wage was of $271,571.
From December 1, 2024the SMVM for all monthly workers who complete the full legal working day is $279,718 and $1,399 per hour for daily workers.
From January 1st, The Minimum Living and Mobile Wage will increase to $286,711 for monthly workers and $1,434 per hour for daily workers. A month later, in February, these figures will rise to $292,446 and $1,462, respectively.
The progression defined by the Resolution will culminate on March 1st, when the minimum wage will reach $296,832 for monthly workers and $1,484 per hour for daily workers.
In article 2, it is also established that the unemployment benefit for workers with an agreement or not with an agreement will be equivalent to 75% of the net amount of the best monthly, normal and habitual remuneration of the worker in the six months prior to the termination of the employment contract. work that gave rise to unemployment.
