Nvidia is presenting a new generation of AI systems at the start of the CES tech trade fair. Artificial intelligence is the dominant theme of the trade fair in Las Vegas.
Nvidia presented an artificial intelligence (AI) for simplified AI training at the CES technology trade fair. The US semiconductor manufacturer’s “Cosmos” software creates photorealistic video sequences on the basis of which robots or self-driving cars can be trained, said CEO Jensen Huang in Las Vegas.
AI developers expect speed and cost advantages from such “synthetic training data”. Analyst Vivek Arya from Bank of America, however, doubted that this business area will give Nvidia a significant boost in sales. However, the report caused a stir around the world.
Nvidia works closely with Toyota
At the same time, Huang announced that the Japanese car manufacturer Toyota would be relying on chips and the US company’s operating system for its driving assistance systems in the future. He did not give any further details.
The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) officially opens this Tuesday. Experts assume that the topic of artificial intelligence will be omnipresent in the show rooms: talking clocks and mirrors, a pot that independently decides when to water its plants, a networked collar for cows that detects infections.
Nvidia boss Huang is a star guest at the exhibition. He gave a speech on Monday evening before CES officially opened. Technologies related to cars are also becoming increasingly important.
