German foreign trade is still not really gaining momentum. But an important market is picking up.
The German economy exported slightly more goods in November than in the previous month. Adjusted for calendar and seasonal reasons, the value was 127.3 billion euros, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office. That was 2.1 percent more than in October, but also 3.5 percent less than a year earlier. Imports also fell in the short term by 3.3 percent to 107.6 billion euros.
The German economy’s foreign trade surplus grew to 19.7 billion euros after 13.4 billion euros in October. Exports to the USA developed particularly strongly (+14.5 percent), while fewer German goods were exported to EU countries (-1.7 percent) than in the previous month. Fewer goods also went to China (-4.2 percent).
