The Government made Decree 17/2025 official this Thursday, which authorizes President Javier Milei to leave the country for “government reasons”, without the need to previously obtain permission from the National Congress, given that it has been in recess since last November 30. The head of state will have two confirmed trips this month: first will go to Donald Trump’s inauguration as president of USA and then will attend Davos Forum in Switzerland.
The decree was published this Thursday in the Official Gazette and bears the signature of the President, the Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos, the Chancellor Gerardo Werthein, the Minister of Defense, Luis Petri, the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, the Minister of Security , Patricia Bullrich, the Minister of Health, Mario Lugones, the Minister of Human Capital, Sandra Pettovello, and the Minister of Deregulation and Transformation of the State, Federico Sturzenegger.
“The head of the Executive Branch is authorized to leave the country, when government reasons require it, until the law corresponding to the year 2025 is approved,” the text states.
“This task cannot be postponed and is essential for the better positioning of our country within the concert of nations,” the text highlights.
And he adds: “It is imperative that, until the law that grants permission for the head of the Executive Branch to be absent from the territory of the Nation is passed, the constitutionally authorized measures be adopted so that the President can function in his capacity as head. of State”.

IAF’s main partner, ARC Energy, is based in Louisiana, United States. The president of the firm is Jason Arceneauxand both he and two of the company’s directors, who are Venezuelan, appeared publicly as contributors to Donald Trump’s campaign.
According to the understanding reached with the Argentine government, the North American company will make an immediate payment of about US$7 million, which represents 25% of its capitalization proposal which reaches a total of US$27 million.
