The young cast of the film School of Rock reunited to celebrate the wedding of two of his co-stars.
Caitlin Halewho played the showgirl Marta, and Angelo Massagliwho played the band’s security guard Frankie, tied the knot in a ceremony last weekend.
Several members of the cast attended the ceremony, including Rivkah Reyes (who played bassist Katie), Robert Tsai (keyboardist Lawrence), Maryam Hassan (lead singer Tomika), Joey Caydo Jr. (guitarist Zack) Cole Hawkins (Leonard, also security), Aleisha Allen (the showgirl Alicia) and Brian Falduto (stylist Billy).
The cast members have remained close since the film was filmed, reuniting at the event more than two decades after its 2003 release.
Some of the former child actors shared images from the wedding on social media, including an Instagram Reel by Hassan showing a montage of clips from the nuptials.
In the caption, Hassan wrote: “First publication of the year and what better way to start it than with my [familia] more than 20 years?”.
“I spent last weekend attending the wedding of [Caitlin] and Angelo. “It was absolutely beautiful and the perfect little reunion for all of us.”
Reyes also posted a video of the wedding on TikTok, with a caption that read, “Celebrating Caitlin and Angelo’s marriage with my family forever.”
The love story that was born in School of Rock
Hale and Massagli met during auditions for School of Rock when they were just 10 and 11 years old, and said in a joint interview with Inside Edition that it seems like fate that they both went through the casting process on the same day. “They auditioned thousands of kids all over the country, and that was one of those serendipitous moments,” Hale said.
Massagli recalled the first time he heard Hale sing: “I remember my first audition like it was yesterday. I arrived and there was a little blonde girl next to me. They called her first and she started singing show songs and left everyone stunned. “It was excellent.”
The couple reconnected years after the film and things eventually turned romantic. “We kept having lunch, and then lunch turned into dinner, dinner turned into drinks, and the rest is history,” Hale said.
School of Rock, a classic that marked a generation
School of Rock is a musical comedy directed by Richard Linklater. It is starring Jack Black as Dewey Finn, an aspiring rock star who uses the identity of his roommate (Ned Schneebly, played by the creator of The White Lotus, Mike White) to teach at an elite school, before gathering his students to form a band. It also stars Joan Cusack and Sarah Silvermanand was adapted for the theater by Andrew Lloyd Webber in 2013 with a local version starring Agustín Aristarain.
