Five regions of Russia ended 2021 with double-digit inflation: Dagestan, Kalmykia, Khakassia, as well as Altai Krai and Sevastopol became the subjects with the largest price increase. The top ten regions with the highest inflation rates also included the Ivanovo, Tambov and Kursk regions (9.94%, 9.9% and 9.8% respectively), and in addition, the Moscow and Kaliningrad regions (9.76% and 9.8% respectively). 49%). In aggregate, price growth rates above the national average of 8.39% were recorded in 54 regions of the country.
At the same time, the lowest rates of price growth were noted in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (where they amounted to 3.67%, which is below the Central Bank’s target of 4%). Almost by 2 p.p. it was overtaken by the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, where inflation reached 5.46%, and the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (5.76%) ranked third among the regions with low inflation. Interestingly, Moscow also joined this group: goods and services in the capital went up by 7%.
