“With actions like these, we reaffirm our commitment to the communities where we are present and to the construction of a more equitable and supportive future for the entire country,” commented from the Sustainability area of Supermayorista Vital.
Along these lines, in December 2024, the company developed a special solidarity action with the donation of 4,000 Christmas boxes with food products to these Foundations. Some 2,000 boxes were destined for Food Banks and helped 191 organizations, which provided support to more than 30,000 people in the AMBA, with holiday products delivered before and during Christmas week.
“Historically, the Food Bank receives these types of donations after the holidays, as leftover products. Vital’s initiative to donate genuine boxes has been a pamper to the heart with products to share during the holiday weeks,” highlighted Agustina Himitian, Traffic and Donations Coordinator at the Food Bank, a key organization in the fight against hunger and malnutrition. and the waste of food in Argentina.
It should be noted that Banks collaborate with more than 350,000 people a day, distributing food through a network of 1,091 social organizations throughout the country.
For its part, the company added: “At Vital we believe in the power of solidarity to generate real changes. With these Christmas boxes, we wanted to be present in the moments of celebration and hope of thousands of families. Our commitment is constant and is sustained throughout the year.”
Another 2,000 boxes were donated to the SonRisas Foundation, an entity that works from a community approach to provide training, recreation, support and opportunities for expression to children and adolescents in vulnerable situations, strengthening communities from within.
“We have been working together with Vital for several years. And we are very happy to know that in this alliance it is possible to avoid the waste of food and also that families do not complete their four meals a day. Throughout the year we are making that virtuous bridge. And punctually at the end of the year, we add this beautiful action of Christmas boxes,” said Martín Ferreira, one of the founders of SonRisas.
In this sense, the boxes were delivered to the following organizations: SonRisas Social and Solidarity Center Headquarters, SonRisas Social and Solidarity Center Dejando Huellas, SonRisas Las Chacritas Social and Solidarity Center, Villa Inmaculada Church, Happy World Comedor, Chupete Blanco Comedor, Los Peques Dining Room, Pasos Gigantes Dining Room and El Zeizar Retirement Center.
