Winter sales start on Monday
The dealers are making space in their warehouses. With special offers they attract customers to the stores during the seasonal sales. It starts on January 27th.
The coming weeks could be interesting for bargain hunters: the winter sales begin on Monday, as the Textile Shoes Leather Goods Trade Association (BTE) announced.
The search could be particularly worthwhile for customers this year. Overall, the autumn/winter season was rather mixed for the shops, and the Christmas business disappointed many retailers, said BTE managing director Axel Augustin. Customers can therefore “look forward to a fairly large selection”.
During the winter sales, fashion, shoes, leather goods, home textiles and sportswear in particular are reduced. Many furniture stores, hardware stores and electronics stores also offer goods that have been reduced in price.
Since 2004, end-of-season sales have no longer been regulated by law. Retailers are continuing to offer winter and summer sales because many people have planned the traditional sales, the German trade association said. The sales usually last two weeks.
