The wage gap remained above 4.9% in favor of men during 2024
The wage gap in salary required by gender remained above 4.91% in favor of men throughout 2024. The greatest difference in the intended remunerations was recorded in January when reaching the 17.23%, while the smallest was in June with the 4.91%.
In December, the average salary requested by people who perceive themselves as men was $1,324,257 per month, while the amount required by women is $1,221,386 per month. In this way, the salary difference by gender is 8.42% in favor of men, an increase of 0.39 percentage points compared to the previous month.
Compared to November, the average salary sought by men increased by 2.19%, while that of women rose by 1.83%.
The participation of men in applications was higher than that of women throughout 2024. Male participation registered the highest percentage in the month of June with 57.60% and the lowest in April with 51.62%. Furthermore, it could be observed that greater seniority corresponds to a greater number of applications on the part of men and a lower number of applications on the part of women.
