- “The hyperinflationary bomb left by our predecessors and the terrible credit reputation that we had as a country forced us to become the best student in the class in economic matters. The alternative was to enter an economic and social crisis unprecedented in our history.”
- “When we took office we had 15 points of consolidated deficit between our Treasury and our Central Bank, which meant monetary issuance and an inflationary spiral. The first thing we did was make an adjustment for those 15 points and we put an end to the monetary issue. As a result of this, annualized wholesale inflation went from 17,000% in December 2023 to 10% in December 2024.”
- “Our exchange gap between the official dollar and the parallel dollar was 180% and is now practically extinct, our parallel exchange rate having appreciated by 40% in the process, which is why the average salary went from $300 to $1,100” .
- “The country risk was around 1900 points when we began our management and today it is already around 600 points. Thanks to this, we were able to lower our monetary rate from the exorbitant sum of 133% to 32% without having a currency crisis, while our national bonds went from trading at 35 dollars to 70.”
- “To date we eliminate 900 regulations, at a rate of more than 3 per day, and we approved the Bases Law, which together with DNU 70/23 represent the largest structural reform that has ever been carried out in our country.”
- “We approved a Large Investment Incentive Regime that provides a competitive fiscal framework and long-term legal security for investments greater than 200 million dollars.”

Presidency
- “We have already received investments for more than 12 billion dollars, and announcements for as many billions more. And just yesterday we received the pleasant news that we will have our first tech investment within this regime, for 500 million dollars.”
- “We achieved all this without a social outbreak because we took away the power of intermediation from the picketers, who herded people like cattle for their own causes.”
- “During 2024 we had a short but harsh recession, which marked its floor of 4.5 points of GDP in April, and we ended the year with the same level of activity as the previous year.”
- “As a consequence of this recovery, we reduced poverty from 54% in the first quarter of 2024, to 38% in the third, and we hope to continue on this path. The most conservative projections estimate that we will grow 5% in 2025.”
- “We have a cyclical component, marked by the recovery of salaries and retirements thanks to the collapse of inflation, and a recomposition of stocks of companies that were overstocked in 2023 and liquidated inventory at the beginning of 2024. Both factors boost the economic flow and explain the growth of the second half of the year.”
- “We are already dedicated to eliminating the worst tax of all, the inflation tax, and now we have to continue moving forward with the rest of the taxes.”
- “For that, we first seek to simplify them, so that national taxes are only 5 or 6, together with a structural reform that returns fiscal independence to the provinces and thus we can see them competing on taxes to attract investments.”
- “On the other hand, we are getting closer every day to exiting the exchange rate trap. We still have to finish cleaning up the central bank’s stock mismatch, and we are working on different alternatives to provide a definitive solution and be able to close the Central Bank forever.”
- “We have a mountain range rich in lithium, silver, gold, copper and uranium, of which today we export practically zero due to ideological whims of yesteryear. This is why we are looking to move forward with a free trade agreement with the United States, and hopefully we can replicate it with all the nations of the world.”
- “Today Argentina has almost 200 potential clients waiting for their goods and services, so our history is a blank page waiting to be written.”
Javier Milei at the Davos Forum: alliance with Trump, anti-woke agenda and “Argentina, an example worldwide”
The president Javier Milei spoke at the Davos Forumone of the most important meetings of businessmen and leaders in the world. In his speech, the head of state made a strong criticism of Western leaders and attacked “the mental virus of woke ideology“, warned of “cultural subversion” and highlighted Argentina as a “worldwide example.”
“The mental virus of the woke ideology is the cancer that must be removed,” Milei declared this Thursday in Switzerland, under the watchful eye of the most important businessmen and leaders in the world. He reiterated, among other concepts, that “the market has no flaws”, as he had expressed in his presentation at that same forum in 2024.
At the beginning of the presentation, Milei remembered what his speech was like in that same place last year. He took advantage of the occasion to take stock of what was his first year in office and highlighted the Government’s achievements.
“He had no support from legislators, governors or the media. Argentina has become a world example of politics for telling the truth to the people’s faces,” said the president, who insisted that “our battle is not won yet.” “.
