Modern training for the world of tomorrow

Modern training for the world of tomorrow

Slowly is stipulated in people’s minds that an apprenticeship is as important as an academic training. It conveys specialized skills that are urgently required on the labor market.

Apprenticeship training reacts to large trends such as ecologization or digitization, so teaching professions are continuously modernized. We have taken a closer look at three innovative professions, which are guaranteed to be in demand in the next few years and decades.

Gardening for the climate

They make the world a little greener. Climate gardeners plant roofs and facades, build irrigation systems and take care of the infiltration of surfaces. Especially in urban areas, greening measures are becoming increasingly important in order to maintain the quality of life of people in the increasingly hot summer. The three -year apprenticeship is in its infancy. He can only be learned since July 2024. For the time being, it is managed as a temporary attempt to study, admission is possible by the end of 2031.

Anyone who has already completed an apprenticeship in the cemetery and ornamental nursery can be credited to the first and second year of apprenticeship, even all three apprentices in gardening and green space design. This also applies vice versa. Those who start with the climate gardener can later become “normal” gardeners.

This is how innovation tastes

The variety of domestic food is enormous- from milk and cheese products, baked goods, fruit and vegetable products to drinks. As one of the top 5 industries in Austria, the food industry is one of the most reliable employers in the country.

It is thanks to highly qualified specialists that the production runs smoothly, including food technicians. The three and a half year apprenticeship food technology was launched by companies in 2007.

The teaching offers a wide range of knowledge, its content is continuously modernized. Among other things, the topics of sustainability, avoidance of food waste and the development of new products are also part of it. After completing the apprenticeship, the specialists for food technology work at every level of production: from the selection of raw materials and the processing of food to programming the systems to quality control.

Install the future

Without them, our everyday life would not work. Installation and building technicians provide people with warmth and fresh air in the buildings in which they stay every day.

The training as a installation and building technician is modular. It currently consists of a basic and a main module, in addition a second main or a special module can be chosen in another year. The training period is three to four years. In the course of a planned revision, changes should occur and the training should be placed on new, contemporary legs. New combinations are to be created and green skills are to be worked out more clearly so that the teaching meets the most modern technical requirements.

Focus on heat pumps and photovoltaics

Instead of the fossil content, much more renewable energy technologies, in particular heat pumps and biomass, are to be included in the training. Content from photovoltaics should also find their place. A new special module “climate and automation technology” should also offer a deepening in the technologies around building automation, smart home and digitization.
