Union demonstrates against plans for the design of the train
Separate the company and network of the Deutsche Bahn – the Union has been promoting this for a long time. The railway and transport union wants to demonstrate in Berlin before the CDU party congress.
The railway and transport union (EVG) will be on the street against plans by the Union on Monday for the breakdown of the railway group. “Fach-based opportunists ignite fog candles in order to enforce the interests of the neoliberal competitive lobby at the expense of the employees,” said EVG boss Martin Burkert before. The demonstration train is to lead from the Chancellery past the main train station to the Bahntower on Potsdamer Platz.
“What it really needs is permanent investments in the rail infrastructure to reduce the wear that has built up for decades,” said union leader Burkert. “Three Union Transport Minister are largely responsible for this.” With a fundamental restructuring, the decades of underfunding is not solved.
The CDU will come together for a federal party conference on Monday at the Berlin exhibition center. The union’s rally also takes place one day before the second tariff round of the EVG with the Deutsche Bahn.
