Tchibo increases prices for the second time within a short time. Customers will have to dig into their pockets for their favorite drink in the future.
The coffee dealer Tchibo increases its prices again. From mid -February, customers have to pay more between 50 cents and 1 euro per pound, depending on the variety, as the company in Hamburg announced.
Raw coffee has become much more scarce, the weather had caused weaker harvests and higher prices, said a Tchibo spokesman. In order to continue to offer the usual quality, you have to act. In April 2024, Tchibo had already increased coffee prices.
A price increase for coffee had already emerged at the end of last year. The price for Arabica beans traded on the ICE raw material exchange in New York climbed the highest value in November for decades. In 2024 alone, raw coffee prices rose by around 70 percent.
Tchibo comments more openly about his prices than other providers. In contrast to many other coffee molars in its branches, the company sells its products directly to end users and can therefore also set their prices. Many other coffee dealers deliver their products to the food retail trade, which defines final prices.
