Lufthansa is expecting blacks in the Italian participation ITA this year. The Lufthansa boss has no good news for passengers.
According to the Lufthansa boss Carsten Spohr, passengers of the Italian airline ITA cannot hope for cheaper prices after taking over. Ticket prices in Europe are likely to climb up due to rising costs, said Spohr in Rome. Lufthansa also expects an appropriate return.
After entering the Italian state airline ITA, Lufthansa expects black numbers in the first year. From the beginning, ita will be treated like a 100 percent daughter, said Spohr.
In the medium term, Lufthansa is aiming for an operational margin of eight percent for its group airlines. “This also applies to ITA,” said Spohr. In the first year, however, this will not be achieved. The full synergies from integration should only be reached after about 18 months – and only work all year round in 2027.
Lufthansa customers can already collect miles at ITA
From the summer flight schedule, which starts on March 30, ITA passengers in Frankfurt and Munich are to be handled at the same terminals as the Lufthansa guests-in Frankfurt on Terminal 1, in Munich on Terminal 2. In addition, both companies offer the flights of the other under one own flight number.
From now on, frequent flyer customers from Lufthansa and their daughters Swiss, Austrian and Brussels should be able to collect and redeem at ITA. Conversely, the ITA program Volare also applies to the Lufthansa societies.
In mid -January, Lufthansa rose to ITA with a share of 41 percent after a long struggle. The majority of the shares continue to hold the Italian state. The aim is that Lufthansa takes over the successor of the former Alitalia 100 percent. A fixed price of 829 million euros was agreed, including a possible variable component.
