The German economy is stuck in a crisis. There is uncertainty among the companies. That has followed.
In Germany, from the perspective of industry, there is an urgently needed investment out of uncertainty about the future political course. “Germany does not come from the position,” said Peter Leibinger, President of the Federal Association of German Industry (BDI). “The companies do not invest or far too little in Germany.” They expected clear confessions of all parties to a more investment -friendly policy. On February 23, a new Bundestag will be elected
A company survey by the Institute of German Economy (IW) in the BDI order showed: Each fourth company has recently no longer invested, neither to get the machines and systems up to date, nor to replace them. A third of the companies have not planned this for the future. “The biggest problem is uncertainty: if you do not know what technology will be politically wanted in the future, you will not invest millions in new facilities,” the IW ruled.
Three out of five companies are particularly suffering from exuberant bureaucracy and urgently want relief and faster approval procedures. According to the survey, each second industrial company demands competitive energy and electricity costs. The industry needs targeted and planning -proof relief because the costs are too high in international comparison.
“Companies have to develop confidence that politics has understood the seriousness of the situation and is ready to act consistently and quickly in order to stop the dangerous downward spiral of lack of investments and weakness in growth,” said Leibinger. It takes significantly more planning security.
