Tour operator Dertour buys Swiss Hotelplan Group

The tour operator belonging to the Rewe is expanding in Switzerland. Customers should not feel the takeover.
The tour operator DERTOUR takes over the Swiss travel group Hotelplan Group from the Migros trading company. In this way, Dertour strengthens its presence as a travel provider in Switzerland, Great Britain and Germany, announced the company belonging to the Rewe group.
The purchase comprises four of the five business units of the Hotelplan Group and concern the travel placement and event in Switzerland, Germany and Great Britain. The holiday home specialist Interhome is excluded, as Dertour explained. Information about the purchase price was not given.
Nothing changes for travel agencies, guests and sales partners of the Hotelplan Group, said Ingo Burmester, board member at the DERTOUR Group. Whether Hotelplan or Migros vacation, customers could book as usual.
The tour employs more than 10,000 people. The Hotelplan Group, based in Glattbrugg (CH) in Switzerland, offers leisure and business trips. In 2024, the travel group with around 2,500 employees generated sales of CHF 1.78 billion.
