Ex-Siemens boss Joe Kaeser has let off a lot of steam on Twitter: He complained about Union and FDP politicians who had exchanged loud internal information on a flight to Munich. But a member of the Bundestag does not put up with it and hits back.
“I’m sitting on the plane to Munich right now in the middle of MPs, who are audibly happy about the weekend…and exchanging internals across the aisle. Some with CSU wristbands. One from the FDP, who used to write flat columns in tabloid magazines.” , Kaeser tweeted on Thursday evening.
But that doesn’t seem to be all the former Siemens boss wants to get rid of, because he continues in another tweet: “Roughly calculate how many of them I’ll finance with my income tax…” Kaeser doubts whether this money couldn’t be better spent, for example for nurses or police officers – for people who “are really there for the citizens every day”, as he writes on Twitter.

It is clear who Joe Kaeser means by the FDP politician: Thomas Sattelberger, in the Bundestag since 2017 and a long-time columnist for “Manager Magazin”, does not put up with the taunts and replies to Kaeser’s claims: “What was flatter, your bow to Trump and Putin or my essays in Manager Magazin, others may judge”, alluding to Kaeser’s time as head of Siemens, when he visited Putin in 2014 shortly after the annexation of Crimea. Before his political career, Sattelberger himself was on the board of directors of Deutsche Telekom.
The 72-year-old FDP politician doesn’t put up with the claim that he exchanged internals: “I refuse to make the dishonorable claim that I exchanged internals. The CSU members may have done that, I sat silently in my seat. “
