The measure aims to reduce costs and times benefiting both industry and consumers, according to the Ministry of Commerce. At the same time the certification processes were simplified.
The government updated the requirements for Import and production of cement, With the aim of reducing costs and times, benefiting both industry and consumers. The new regulations guarantee that the products comply with international security and quality standards, while simplifying certification processes.
Through the Resolution 26/2025the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Ministry of Economy established the security and quality requirements that the different types of cement must meet: of general use, of special properties, for road use concrete with high performance (TAR) and masonry technology.
The measure allows acceptance of International Test and Certificates Reports issued by organizations recognized in high surveillance markets and border countries (Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay). This avoids the duplication of evaluations and simplifies the procedures, significantly reducing the certification times and costs.
In addition, it is established that both national certificates such as foreigners issued by accredited agencies will be valid for commercialization in Argentina. In this way, redundant verification processes for plants already certified abroad are eliminated.
With this initiative, the government seeks Raise the import of cement, foster competition and contribute to price reductioneliminating bureaucratic obstacles that generated delays and cost overruns in the sector.
