32 percent see a strong impact when most of the work is done from a location other than the office. 54 percent assume moderate effects: This is a core statement of the “Hernstein Management Report”, which surveys the mood among managers in Austria and Germany.
The negative aspects outweigh the changes: 22 percent say that there are fewer personal contacts. 19 percent see less cohesion in the team, 17 percent more difficult communication.
The requirement for communication is particularly high: 64 percent stated that they would communicate specifically with employees working from home, 42 percent have a set of rules. Nevertheless, 60 percent believe that informal communication is neglected when working remotely. A particular challenge is also onboarding, i.e. the induction of new employees (28 percent): Here, however, managers are creative, for example through online training courses or introductory videos.
