SAP boss Klein earns almost 19 million euros
Many people work with programs from the SAP group every day. Others have their shares – and they are on a high altitude. This pays off especially for the managers of the group.
SAP CEO Christian Klein benefited significantly from the good business of the software company in 2024. The manager earned almost 19 million euros last year, as can be seen from the SAP remuneration report. That is more than two and a half times as much as in 2023. At that time, Klein had received around 7.2 million euros.
The 44 -year -old Klein is clearly one of the best paid managers in Germany. In 2023, Mercedes boss Ola Källenius was the salary of the top earners among the DAX board members with 12.7 million euros. This year there are still some remuneration reports from the largest listed companies. There will only be a ranking in the course of the year.
The board salaries at SAP are therefore essentially composed of a fixed remuneration and short and long-term bonus payments. The bonuses make up most of the salary and are dependent on the achievement of certain requirements.
According to the report, the clear plus last year is related to the fact that SAP has achieved many internal goals. On the other hand, the increase in the share price has raised the value of the shares, which the supervisory board grants the managers as a long -term bonus. According to SAP, the course has increased by 126 percent since 2021.
58 million euros for the entire board
With CEO Klein, the success -dependent remuneration is more than 92 percent. It is also a large part of the salary for other managers. The entire board of Europe’s largest software company earns 58.3 million euros in 2024. A year earlier it was around 24 million euros.
According to SAP works council chief Eberhard Schick, little of the growth is among the employees. The next increase in salary is 2.4 percent on average – and hardly find the effects of inflation. “Apparently our board members negotiated well,” said Schick. “The workforce will be difficult to convey this.”
For the earlier information, Klein’s software company from Walldorf was a “fantastic year”. SAP was able to expand sales by 10 percent to 34.2 billion euros compared to the previous year. The bottom line was at EUR 3.15 billion, but only around half of the prize from the previous year. In 2024, the company spent several billion euros in disposable costs for the dismantling of thousands.
