Tiramisu- und Dubai chocolate inspire Lindt & Sprüngli
The traditional Swiss company justifies its success with new creations. In a trend in 2024, however, they ran after the idea of others, with success.
Lindt chocolate should become even more expensive. The Swiss manufacturer Lindt & Sprüngli announces this, while he presents solid profits for 2024 – also with the help of price increases. The reason is the high prices for the main raw material cocoa.
The company describes the entry into business with the Dubai chocolate suddenly in demand in 2024 as an overwhelming success. It produced only a limited number of handmade 100-gram panels, heated up the trend with the artificial shortage and ensured hours of snakes in front of his shops.
Employees with chocolatier hats drove the time with small chocolate gifts. The boards went over the counter for the equivalent of more than 15 euros. The Dubai chocolate should now also go into wholesale.
The company also drove well with new creations such as “Tiramisu” at Lindor. Lindt & Sprüngli sees a trend towards Pralinés and hollow figures – such as Easter bunnies or Santa Clauses.
Good business for shareholders
The business with chocolate – in Swiss German: Schoggi – went well: the net profit was practically as high as in the previous year: around CHF 672 million (CHF 715 million). The more than 175 -year -old company had already reported the increase in sales of 5.1 percent to just under CHF 5.5 billion in January. The shareholders get a dividend increase for the 29th time in a row: 7.1 percent this time.
Lindt & Sprüngli describes the business in Europe as excellent, with double-digit growth in the UK, Central and Eastern Europe, France and the Benelux countries for a result of CHF 2.59 billion. The business in Germany grew in the middle single -digit range.
